Between spam calls and automated emails and at-home assistants, a lot of our lives consist of robots starting conversations with us. Robots to sell us insurance, robots to sell us cell phones. Robots to lock our doors and set our agendas and make our grocery lists. Is this what Isaac Asimov had in mind when he wrote his science fiction?
Honestly, most of the bots we interact with are a huge help to us. Siri and Alexa have made our lives infinitely easier. But the robots that aren’t as, say, advanced can be a real pain in the neck. How many times have you ended up screaming into your phone because the computerized help line can’t make out what you’re saying? Robots are just like humans, they can be super annoying when they don’t listen.
An angry customer responds to a string of emails with, "You keep sending me the same response. Seriously, are you a robot?". The Robot Manager along with the Supervisor Robot look on with the Supervisor Robot noting, "Sir, I think he's on to us." The Robot Manager exclaims, "crap!"
