What is it about snow that brings out the child in everyone? Maybe it’s the childlike joy of a canceled school day that only a snow storm can bring. Perhaps it’s the fun of a snowball fight? Or snow’s association with Winter and Christmastime, both things that kids absolutely adore. Who knows, but it seems that no one gets more excited about snow than a child.

Don’t get me wrong, snow can be fun! But often times people forget just how frustrating snow can be. First of all, if you have to drive then you better add about two hours onto any commute time — along with adding chains to your tires. Secondly, do you like getting wet? Because snow is going to make you soaked. It’s water, after all. And while it is pretty and serene while falling, snow quickly becomes a soggy mush once it lands on you. Prepare for some wet socks. Thirdly, and most majorly, snow is cold. How does everyone forget just how freezing it is! Without the proper equipment and warnings, you will end up a late, wet, chilled mess because of snow. A proper snow storm is best enjoyed inside, in front of a roaring fire with a cup of hot coco in your hand. Let the kids play outside, I will be indoors watching the snow fall.
