Did you know sharks first emerged on Earth about 455 million years ago? How about the fact that sharks have amazing vision, they even see in color just like we do? And the fact that Greenland sharks can live to be over 500 years old! Were you aware that sharks go into a trance when you flip them on their backs? Think of a daunting, wide-mouthed shark as docile as a kitten on its back? Cute, huh?
See, there are a lot of cool things to learn about sharks. Sadly, most people think of them as the unstoppable, blood-thirsty beasts we saw in Jaws or Deep Blue Sea. They are not just the soulless, flesh-hungry monsters we often see them as. Make no mistake, I am not telling you to go swimming with a shark, that will end in bloody disaster. You need to be cautious. But remember that like all animals including humans, and onions sharks have layers.
